Design time

Lately I’ve been doing a lot more writing and speaking about design, than actually making design. When I sat down recently to create the design of a new conference brand for a long-time client, I  realized just how long it’s been since I focused completely on my own work (instead of helping a designer with theirs or doing invoicing or making spreadsheets or the million other non-design things a creative director has to do). I admit, I spent quite a bit of time starting at a blank page. But when the piece did start to come together, I think it really clicked. Here’s what I came up with.
